In the spring of 2018, our Dad, Arthur was diagnosed with Chronic Leukaemia. As you can imagine it came as a shock to us all - no one expects or wants anyone to be diagnosed with cancer, especially a loved one.
After receiving treatment for only a couple months, a routine blood-test sadly highlighted an abnormality. Dad was immediately admitted to Exeter RD&E where he underwent a week of treatment. Unfortunately they were unable to control the spread of the damage being caused and a decision was made to transfer him to the UK Specialist Liver Unit at Kings College Hospital, London. Following a further three weeks of treatment and round the clock care, our dad didn't make it and sadly passed away on 1st September 2018.
Our Dad is our hero, he always has been, and always will be! Now we want to do our bit for ELF and Howard Ward at Kings College Hospital, London. #RidingforDAD
