In the course of July, I will start on a fundraising cycling tour from Jasper in Canada to the US/Mexican border. A 5000km off pavement tour through the most beautiful parts of North America. I'm trying to raise €10.000 for the MS Research foundation. People can donate for every km I ride. So I needed a good and easy way to let people know how I am doing and track my progress. I searched the World Wide Web for the right solution for my needs. Nothing really was exactly what i was looking for....util I came across Follow My Challenge. That seemed to fit the bill completely. Follow my Challenge was a great help in our Impact Journey, as we walked 500km documenting the life along- and history of the Togolese railroad. By sharing photos of the polaroids we took and gave away, including their personal stories, we were able to provide a better understanding of the Togolese context. As one of the followers mentioned: "This is amazing, I have the feeling I am actually walking with you and see Togo through your eyes.." Thereby, Tedde was always there with his endless support and I am very much looking forward to our future collaborations!
I used FMC to update family, friends, sponsors, social media on my progress on a short arctic expedition in Norway. The live tracking software was really well recieved by all, particularly one of the sponsors. I also used the tracker to text communicate with home, and had the option of sending an SOS message if required.
